A MAXIMUM time of 40 minutes allowed per stint. Anyone who’s stint time exceeds 40 minutes will have 2 minutes added to their pitstop. Anyone who’s stint time exceeds 45 minutes will be Disqualified.

FOR THE LAST STINT ONLY, AS LONG AS YOU EXIT PIT LANE AFTER MINUTE 40 IS SHOWN LEFT IN THE RACE, YOUR STINT IS IN REGULATION. IF THE COMPUTER READS THAT YOU LEAVE AT 39 MINUTES AND 59 SECONDS OR LESS YOU WILL NOT BE PENALIZED. A WHITE FLAG AND THEN A CHECKERED FLAG WILL STILL INDICATE THE FINISHIN OR THE RACE…

IN THE RARE CASE THAT THERE IS A RED FLAG, 2 MINUTES WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR STINT TIME. IF YOUR STINT GOES OVER 42 MINUTES, YOU WILL RECEIVE A STINT TIME PENALTY. THERE WILL BE NO DISQUALIFICATION FOR GOING OVER 45 MINUTES WITH A RED FLAG ONLY IF YOU PIT IMMEDIATELY AFTER GOING BACK GREEN.

Maximum amount of karts stopping at any time is 2 for driver changes.

A red flag will be posted at pit entrance when pits are closed.

Kart Breakdown:

In the rare event of a kart breakdown, the driver must stay in the kart and wait for an Official. The race will be red flagged and a replacement kart will be issued. Karts will be lined up behind the leader and the race will restart. The driver causing the red flag will start at the tail end of the field.. IF the kart is malfunctioning and fails but you are able to get back to pits, you are allowed a kart swop with no driver change, and allowed back on track whenever ready. You do not have to wait the full 2 minutes.

In the rare event of a kart breaking down in pit lane as you are making your pit stop and it causes you to go over your two minutes, you will receive that time back on your next pit stop (UP TO 20 SECONDS). Only a kart breakdown will you receive this time back, all other issues causing you to go over your two minute stop will not qualify (ie. forgetting weight, forgetting neckbrace, next driver not ready…)

If you feel your kart is failing/breaking and is un-drivable, notify your team and have a member talk with an official ASAP. If the official deems the kart to be failing/unsafe to drive, you may enter the pits, even if is closed, to change karts. Once you are in your new kart the officials will release you from pits. There will be no 2 minute time for this stop.

If you come in before talking to an official, you may discuss the issue with an official in pit lane and they will decide if it indeed is a kart failure or not. If it is deemed a kart failure you may exit pits when ready. If it is NOT then you will be held 2 minutes and count as a normal pit stop.

Warnings and penalties:

o   Penalties are a minimum of a 2 minute hold in the pit.

o   Penalties are to be served within 5 laps of receiving the black flag. You may discuss with track official and based on penalties you may have an option to serve under your next pit stop. If there are no pit stops left to be made in the race you must serve within the 5 laps.

  • If you are able to serving your penalty during your pit stop you will come down pit lane as normal, change drivers and karts, and once situated be moved over to the right side of pits (penalty lane) to serve your penalty. The first two minutes will be towards your pit stop and pits will be closed if there are 2 karts on pit lane. The second two minutes will be towards your penalty and your kart will not be counted towards the 2 kart max on pit lane.

If that kart you bumped falls back behind another kart/karts, you must let by all karts till you are behind the kart you bumped out of the way.o   It will be the officials’ determination if contact was intentional, avoidable or accidental.

o   Any contact that is deemed intentional will result in a black flag and the offending driver will be removed from the race and may be subject to further disciplinary action including suspension of racing privileges.
